Explanation:
It may seem that "up" in "stuck up" requires a translation indicating an upward direction, but that is a false notion. A stuck up pin is a pin that is fixed on a base and that, when the base is attached to a surface, will stick out at an angle perpendicular to the surface. For instance, if you stick it to a tabletop, it will pint upward, but if you stick it to a wall, it will stick out horizontally, and so on. That is why I prefer بارز.

Incidentally, there is currently no standard translation for this term. We are practically coining a new term in Arabic.
