Употребих "маркови" неточно, така да се каже в българския смисъл. Общото тук е не дали са марки и колко струват, а че "cater to the needs of the ordinary public (of retail goods)". Затова и казах, че не се поддава на свестен превод.

agree  dicheva: популярни, да, т.е известни, но в доста случаи не са евтини. Щом става въпрос за Великобритания, тук те са 65, популярни е също адекватен превод
