За да опишат всичко възможно най-подробно понякога monitor означава просто монитор, понякога се използва за назоваване на цялото, което включва например и основата и стойката. Във втория случай monitor head е така да се каже подвижната част, която може да се наглася, накланя и т.н. Беше само теория, но се порових и попаднах на няколко ръководства, където правят същото разграничение.
