The retort "It doesn't sound right" is about as valid as "there are voices in my head that tell me to do so." It's imperative to be thoroughly familiar with reference books. Being in possession of the facts that back up the decisions made makes it possible to deal professionally and efficiently with that obnoxious text basher next time around.

感谢两位！Obnoxious的原意确实是“造作得令人不舒服”的意思，而basher这个词比较特殊，算是晚近比较常见的字词，在此文本里指的虽然确实是审稿人，但故意置入的反讽贬义相当浓重，而且也属平常口语，因此翻译成“砍手儿”极恰当，所以我选择这个翻译。
