Čoperi spadaju u grupu DC/DC energetskih pretvarača. Oni jednosmeran napon određene srednje vrednosti, koji se obično dobija iz neregulisanog izvora jednosmernog napona, pretvaraju u jednosmeran napon druge srednje vrednosti.
