The silvicultural method that gradually removes the trees from a given stand by a series of partial cuttings over a relatively short period of time. Eventually all overstory trees are removed, resulting in an even-aged stand.

PRIRODNO POMLAĐIVANJE POD ZASTOROM
KROŠANJA STARIH STABALA
Ovaj način pomlađivanja najviše se upotrebljava u šumarstvu Hrvatske.
Njime možemo pomladiti gotovo sve vrste šumskih sastojina koje kod
nas dolaze. To je najprirodniji i za šumski ekosustav najbezbolniji način
izmjene dviju generacija šumskih sastojina odnosno zamjene staroga
stabla mladim stablom.
Pomlađivanje pod zastorom krošanja starih stabala u nas se ostvaruje:
a) oplodnim sječama (u regularnom gospodarenju)
b) prebornom sječom (u prebornom gospodarenju).
S obzirom na trajanje pomlađivanje pod zastorom krošanja može trajati
u granicama pomladnoga razdoblja (kod regularnoga gospodarenja) ili
trajati u kontinuitetu (u prebornom gospodarenju).
