Hello, I would need your help concerning the following fragment. As a total accounting ignoramus, I do not understand exactly what the text reads:

The company is evaluating the carrying value of the renal denervation assets and based on the above trial results, believes a one-time impairment charge in the future will be likely. The company today reiterated its previously communicated revenue outlook and diluted earnings per share guidance for fiscal year 2014.

My guess:
Společnost nyní vyčísluje skutečnou hodnotu investic spojených s renální denervací a s ohledem na výše uvedené výsledky klinické studie je přesvědčená, že v budoucnu pravděpodobně přistoupí k jednorázovému odpisu hodnoty. Společnost dnes potvrdila svůj dříve zveřejněný plán výnosů a předpokládanou výši zředěného zisku na akcii pro fiskální rok 2014.

The text is a part of a press release following a partially unsuccessful clinical trial of a renal denervation method. I suppose, this paragraph is like an implied message intended for business partners (?) or maybe investors... tax revenue office (?)

účetní hodnota aktiv


Explanation:
je to synonymum k "book value". Zůstatková hodnota je podle mne "net book value" nebo "net carrying value".

I když autor měl podle mne spíše na mysli "net book value", akorát zapomněl na to "net" :-)
