English term or phrase: Not a silver dollar one either.
A sentence from a kids' book.

A girl aged app. 8 gets her homework soaked by a juice and is complaining about the stain left on the paper: "...a big purple stain the size of a pancake. Not a silver dollar one either. A giant, jaggedy triangle..."
I am guessing the sentence is there to further enhance the ugliness of the stain but am not sure.

The book is written by an American but contains almost no slang, the language is pretty easy so that a kid can read it. Target audience = kids aged 8-10.

Can anybody explain, please? Many thanks in advance.

Zdá se, že jde o malé palačinky (lívanečky)

Musí to být specificky americké, v Kanadé se to neužívá.

Reference

Reference information:
A silver dollar pancake refers to a pancake about two to three inches (5 to 7 cm) in diameter, or just a bit bigger than the pre-1979 silver dollar coins in the United States, for which they are named. It is usually made by frying a small spoonful of the same batter as any other pancake. One serving is usually five to ten silver dollar pancakes.
