Het lijkt een verschrijving, maar dat maakt de vertaling voor een niet-chemicus er niet gemakkelijker op. De Engelse context:
Conversion is by a process known as trans-esterification, the glycerine in the oil being changed via reaction using monovalent alcohol methanol.

Is de vertaling 'simpelweg' monovalente alcohol-methanol? Het lijkt me dat alcohol-methanol niet bestaat? Graag wat licht op deze zaak.
