Carrying out a “flat”“
If a “flat” is required on the tip, this is achieved using the entrance bush which is equipped with a “click system” which raises or lowers the code by 0.1 mm for each click.
If a “flat” of 3 mm is required for example, screw the entrance bush 3 clicks anti-clockwise and the “stick-out” is increased by a corresponding amount by supplying an extra length on the length setter.
The grinding is now carried out and the angle setter is set at 90°, and the entrance bush is new screwed 3 clicks clockwise and the grinding is carried out as normal.
