English term or phrase: operator

"The platform was operated by a party referred to as the operator on behalf of a consortium of companies that included the operator."

"I turn now to the second question whether the operator is entitled now to indemnity under the contract between the parties in respect of the claims arising from the death or injury of the contractor's employees having regard to the payments made by the operator's insurers."

exploitant
Explanation:
Sounds like an 'exploitant' to me.

See e.g. JurLex (slightly different, but relevant):

exploitant van het vaartuig = vessel operator
