Hi,
As the two terms "paleoxygen" and "paleocarbon" are connected by the conjunction "or", they have the same formation, i.e. paleo+oxygen as in paleo+carbon. I think the prefix here is "paleo" and should not be confused with "pale" which means "کم رنگ،ضعيف‌" or the like. The other example is "Paleontology": plaeo+ontology
Furthermore, the other form of "paleo" is "pale" meaning "دیرینه،كهن‌،".
These terms probably refer to the oxygen and carbon present in the fossils of organic materials which lived in ancient world. And they are used to determine the date or age to which these organic materials belong.

Well, it depends on the reader whether s/he is familiar with the specialized words or not. Anyway, your suggestion fully conveys the meaning.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Dear answerer, what do you mean by اکسیژن دیرینه؟

Asker: Dear Mr. Mollaei, First of all, thank you for these valuable clarifications. Although اکسیژن دیرینه seems to be a good and sensible equivalent, don't you think by the descriptions given, it is better to use a descriptive form for the translation, such as اکسیژن موجود در فسیلهای دوران باستان؟
