Stretch means going beyond what is normal. I think ارتقا دادن is almost correct. The real meaning is تلاش بیشتر کردن or بیش از ظرفیت کار کردن.
باید بیشتر تلاش کنم تا نیازهای بیمارانم را برآورده کنم.

Shella is translating definition #1 and Amanallah is translating definition #3

Definition #3 is the correct one in this context.

Ms. Shella using عملکرد in this sentence doesn't make any sense. As I mentioned, "a function of something" has a specific meaning and it fits very well. I translate this sentence like this:
ظرفیت من برای ارائه پاسخ لازم، تابعی از تمایل یا احساس توانایی من است.

In other words, If I didn't have willingness, I wouldn't have the capacity to offer needed responsiveness.

We can also use نتیجه but not عملکرد.

the translation is very obvious: عملکرد دیدن - عملکرد بوییدن - عملکرد ( کار) دست
In dictionary the meaning of Function is : تابع - عملکرد - کارکرد - وظیفه - کار ویزه - مقام - ماموریت - ایفا - ایین نامه - پیشه
تابع is an option but not applicable in this text.
