siirtolainen Explanation: depending on the destination, this can be siirtolainen - in the case of an internal migrant - or maahanmuuttaja, if immigrating from another country. A migrant is not necessarily a migrant worker, which may be why the term regular migrant is used here. In Finnish, siirtolainen and siirtotyölainen would be the equivalent of regular migrant and migrant worker. |
