la sangre derramada en nuestras manos es el vino ... Explanation: Sería más útil si dieras más contexto, qué frases la rodean. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 mins (2006-01-15 00:28:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Oops, creo que me equivoqué de idioma :) Sorry. |

kättemme veri on viini Explanation: If this line is from HIM's song Wings of a Butterfly, here's the full verse: Heaven ablaze in our eyes We're standing still in time The blood on our hands is the wine We offer as sacrifice I could not find out whether HIM has recorded this in Finnish, but I doubt it. So if you are after a free translation, I would translate this as "kättemme veri on viini" in which I have translated "the wine" as definite because it's followed by a relative clause "[that] we offer as sacrifice". Also, using a genitive construction "kättemme veri" (literally "the blood of our hands") for "the blood on our hands" is another option as opposed to "veri käsissämme" or "käsissämme oleva veri", as Finnish seems to prefer genitive constructions to prepositional ones. But here it's a matter of preference. Reference: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/him/wingsofabutterfly.html |
