katsy: As I say in the discussion, God Squad evokes for me the university CU. However, your references show how your choice is applied to Christians (agree BTW on fundamentalism ) In your final references, I'd take "fou de Dieu" to mean "mad about/in love with".

-> Thanks katsy. God Squad can be approving or perjorative depending on context and one's point of view. It evokes for me the people who come knocking on the door or trying to stop me in the street to discuss the Bible and save my soul.

Germaine: La connotation dépend effectivement du contexte. Dans "fous de Dieu", elle est essentiellement péjorative, mais ce n'est pas nécessairement le cas pour bataillon, escouade ou brigade de Dieu.
