-> il me semble qu'en français, on parle d'identité du propriétaire des données ou de la personne qui les a - dans ce cas - modifiées, supprimées, etc. Pour les données et ressources système, le terme correct en vrai français limite suranné ne serait-il pas "informations relatives à/aux..."???

I don't know where you're getting the idea of a person from? Surely these things themselves will have an ID, so if some machine goes down, you need to know it is machine X and not machine Y.

Oh I see, you just meant that 'identité' in FR is only used for people! But here I think the usual term in IT would be 'identification' (cf. localisation = location, etc.)
