English term or phrase: pippies
The chef's recommendations include live pippies (a type of shellfish)

I'm looking around, but can't find a French equivalent.
Somehow I doubt « pipi » would convey the same meaning!

Explanation:
there is no French translation for "pippies" as it's Australian and Pipi" are a different species (NZ) but both are a type of cockle or clam so either use "coquilles" or "palourdes/clams" with "pippies"
