Il y a 13 espèces de "horned lizards", dont une est la "regal horned lizard".
J'ai cherché sur Google, mais sans succès, "lézard cornu royal", "crapaud cornu royal", "lézard-crapaud royal", "phrynosome royal", "tapaya royal"...
Il me semble que le nom scientifique de ce "regal horned lizard" est "phrysonoma solare", mais je ne trouve pas son nom commun.

En effet, vous avez raison. Il n'existe pas grand chose en terme de nom commun pour ce petit iguane/lézard.

En effet, me semble que lézard connu royal est le plus proche, mais ce terme ne semble pas avoir fait l'objet d'une classification officielle.

Explanation:
Le terme "royal" ne revient pas en français. Je pense néanmoins que tu dois le mettre pour la fidélité de ta traduction.
La divergence entre le français et l'anglais réside dans le terme "royal". Les anglophones le trouvent royal, les francophones lui trouvent un air de crapaud (pour son surnom, du moins !) À toi de résoudre le dilemme.
P.S. : dire qu'il est "cornu" n'a rien de positif en français. Il faut préférer "à cornes". Dommage qu'on n'ait pas choisi "couronné", ça aurait couvert les cornes et la couronne.
