All calving groups are based on ///Speed Band Matings,/// in which bulls are mated for bands of 21 days, separated by neutral intervals. Matings start on October 1 (Cycle1jC1), then November 1 and so on until February 1. Accordingly, calving starts around July 21, and finishes with Cycle 5 cows (C5) by December 12 every year with no exceptions made for difficult seasons.
