English term or phrase: User bit
Bonjour,

Dans le mode d'emploi d'un caméscope, je rencontre ce terme "user bit". Il est généralement associé au "time code". Je ne parviens pas à trouver l'équivalent en français. Est-ce "caractères binaires d'utilisateur" ? Mais je ne trouve aucune occurence pour cette expression.

neutral  Tony M: Not really necessary to add 'données' — we might equally well say 'user data bit' in EN, but the 'data' is taken as read these days. And note that it is by no means always plural, can perfectly well be singular too.
