disagree  Tony M: Here, it is neither the 'high' nor the 'low' period, but that 'transition' area between them / No, the other question is perfectly clear to, it refers to 'boundary periods'.

-> Wrong! The same expression was submitted before for a translation into Spanish. http://www.proz.com/kudoz/english_to_spanish/tourism_travel/...

disagree  Germaine: Tony a raison.

disagree  Daryo: your own ref: the slower-selling days such as Monday and Thursday, that border sold out times => "marginal to peak time", not the low ebb

Explanation:
I would rather try to explain, as I am not sure there is a perfect equivalent in French. Putting "heures intermédiaires" only might create ambiguity.

So I'd say this sounds like off-peak hours.

Asker: Hi P! Nice to see you again ;-) It concerns the hours where planes should make less noise, and as they already mention 9PM-6AM, I'm a little at a loss ;-)

agree  Tony M: It's more than anything the 'twilight' period of the hours at which the period changes from the night-time limits to the daytime ones.
