Voici le contexte :

"He pulled hard at the bell of the landlord’s house. The jangling faded. He rang again."

Je ne sais si je dois utiliser l'imparfait pour "faded" même s'il me semble mieux convenir.
( "Il tira fortement sur la cloche de la maison du propriétaire. Son tintement s’affaiblissait. Il sonna de nouveau.")

Ceci dit, je trouve ma phrase traduite ("Son tintement s'affaiblissait") étrange et peu fluide… peut-être à cause de "tintement"?
Je ne serai pas contre un peu d'aide! Merci!

Essayons de raconter ce que ressent le visiteur: "dans le vide" c'est pourquoi il recommence, c'est ce qu'il pense, on pourrait dire aussi "se perdit dans le vide", mais cela reprend moins la notion de "fade"

Le "tintement" je le trouve excessif dans la répétition, "never state the obvious in French": quand on sonne une cloche, on sait quel type de son est produit
