It sounds like it refers to "senior social worker" I think?

A referral was received in 2008. The case was allocated to ***Senior Practitioner*** Darlene XXX.

neutral  Victoria Britten: That's definitely the right idea, but I don't know enough to be able to give a definite "agree" to the terminology. Let's hope someone else who really knows the French social services will soon come along and confirm!

  -> Thanks. I have a rather thorough knowledge of French social services (State, departments) and graduating trainings/diplomas. No such official grades in France, and any kind of grade transposition would be hazardous in my humble opinion.
neutral  Daryo: yes for "travailleur social" /OTOH "senior" doesn't mean necessarily team leader, but "more experienced, capable of dealing with more complex cases" possibly "experimenté" ?

  -> "Team leader" is just a try (see ref.) to summarize the function/job/grade which does include "dealing wih more complex cases" etc. // "expérimenté" is of course possible, but "confirmé" suits better in French for... grades.

  -> Thank you. Relevant reference indeed, including regarding "team leader". Among others, just one of the usual characteristics of senior social workers jobs/grades, be it in FR or UK; including here: "vous assurez la coordination de l'activité".
