C'est en fin de compte la citation complète qui me pose un souci de compréhension car je ne vois pas où l'auteure veut en venir.
Elle écrit une lettre à un ami après avoir parcouru les jardins et le parc de sa propriété avec un paysagiste. Elle raconte cette promenade à son ami (nous sommes au 18è siècle).

Explanation:
Suggestion - dans le sens "arrêtez-vous, nous y sommes"...
La citation est extraite de "Lancelot 'Capability' Brown, 1716-1783: The Omnipotent Magician" (p. 199). Elle semble inspirée d'une balade écrite en l'honneur de Shakespeare, dont le texte était "Now, now, we tread enchanted ground" (La genèse du mythe shakespearien 1660- 1780, p. 350), qui fût traduite en français par "aujourd'hui, aujourd'hui, nous foulons une terre enchantée" (Préface du Shakespeare traduit de l'Anglois Par Pierre Le Tourneur)
