English term or phrase: garden restaurant
hi all

I wonder if there's a specific term in French to mean a Chinese "garden restaurant", would "restaurant avec jardin" work, or is it a typically Chinese type of eatery? I have done some research on Google but didn't find much info...

Thanks for your help!

restaurant à ciel ouvert / en pleine air / exterieur
Explanation:
Vous avez plusieurs manières agréables et élégantes de tourner la phrase, en tout cas je trouve plus élégante que "restaurant avec jardin".

Il y a même une expression pour les restaurants chics : " restaurant en jardin"

guinguette

Explanation:
in olden times, it was with dancing on weekends, but that has been lost, but the fact to eat in a "restaurant-jardin" is still ok.

neutral  Anne Carnot: I'm not sure this would work to describe a Chinese restaurant, a guinguette is mainly a restaurant along the Seine, like here : https://www.carnetsdeweekends.fr/les-plus-belles-guinguettes...

disagree  erwan-l: No. See remark above.

disagree  Sandra Mouton: Same as Anne, a guinguette suggests an old-fashioned no-frill restaurant with a dancefloor along the Seine (or the Marne): "ah le petit vin blanc, qu'on boit sous les tonnelles [...] du côté de Nogent [sur Marne]"

disagree  Bridget Jean: Same as Anne, guinguette has no equivalent and unfortunately, they have disappeared…
