Unless you have omitted (or the author has forgotten) an n-dash after "...humanity": "...through its stem" properly refers back to "the intelligence of life" (a possible synonym for the Primal Spirit/God...). I.e.: as the intelligence of life (spirit) founded itself in the earthly plane, it initiated science, art, etc. The shamrock symbolically representing this link (stem&root) and blossoming (the leaves). That's how I read it.

Du hast natürlich vollkommen recht! Das war wieder mal ein Fall von Auf-der-Leitung-stehen meinerseits: Ich hatte das Kleeblatt nur als Symbol verstanden, nicht als tatsächliche Pflanze. So ergibt es natürlich Sinn! Stelle Deinen Vorschlag doch als Antwort ein!

Du weißt sicherlich schon, dass es sich bei club/shamrock um das Kreuzsymbol handelt, aber nur um sicher zu gehen. <br>Zum letzten Teil des Satzes: das Kleeblatt "bettet" oder "verankert" sich in das Erdreich mit seinem Stamm, mit dem es auch im Geist der Menschheit verwurzelt ist. So die Aussage hier, zumindest.
