Oberträgerbeuten / Top-Bar-Hives Explanation: Offenbar werden beide Begriffe verwendet, wobei "Top-Bar-Hives" beim Googeln häufiger auftaucht. "What is a top bar hive (tbh)? A tbh is a movable comb hive. Narrow bars, normally of wood, rest across a container (usually a long box or trough), which forms the cavity containing the bees' nest. Bees build comb from the bars which are wide enough to give proper spacing between combs. A bar with its attached comb and adhering bees can be removed from the hive and examined. Each comb is built naturally by the bees, suspended from its top-bar. (i.e., none of the combs is enclosed in a complete frame.) No **full sheets** of comb-foundation *are* used." Es werden also keine gefertigten Wabenrahmen benutzt (siehe Top-Bar Hives: The beekeeper does not provide a foundation (or only provides a fractional foundation) for the bees to build from). These hives were developed as a lower-cost alternative to the standard Langstroth hives and equipment. They are used by some devotees in the US, but are much more popular, due to their simplicity and low cost, in developing countries. Top-bar hives also have movable frames and make use of the concept of bee space. The top-bar hive gets its name because the frames of the hive only have a top bar, not sides or a bottom bar. The beekeeper does not provide a foundation (or only provides a fractional foundation) for the bees to build from. The bees build the comb so it hangs down from the top bar. Unlike the Langstroth hive, the honey cannot be extracted by centrifuging because a top-bar frame does not have reinforced foundation or a full frame. Because the bees have to rebuild the comb after each harvest, a top-bar hive will yield more beeswax but less honey. However, like the Langstroth hive, the bees can be induced to store the honey separately from the areas where they are raising the brood so that far fewer bees are killed when harvesting from a top-bar hive than when harvesting from a skep. http://www.websters-dictionary-online.com/be/beehive.html Top-bar hives are a style of beehive used for beekeeping. They are especially useful in areas where technology is limited, but are also increasingly popular among hobby beekeepers in industrialized nations. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top-bar_hive top bar = Tragleiste http://www.oddernettet2.dk/Biavlerforeningen/Biavlsordbog DA... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 hrs 19 mins (2005-08-07 18:39:18 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Den Bienen muss die Möglichkeit gegeben werden mehrere Naturbauwaben zu errichten. http://homepage.schleswig-holstein.de/bienenschade/Bioland.h... |
