English term or phrase: I Forgive
Hi, everyone. My boss needs to know how to say "Yo Perdono" (I Forgive) in German. There is no more context. She will use such sentence as the name of a campaign. The important thing is to keep the subject for emphasis, to show that I am the one who forgive, and that I will enjoy the benefits of forgiveness. Behind "I forgive", there's an underlying "I choose to forgive". A friend of mine (non-native) said that it could be "ich verzeihe". I would really appreciate confirmation on this. Thank you in advance.

ich vergebe
Explanation:
This is another, maybe better option to "ich verzeihe", with more of a religious background.

m.E. vergibt Gott, aber die Menschen unter sich verzeihen eher.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi, Vera. Thank you very much for your answer. This campaign is intended to foster forgiveness. It's about choosing to forgive over not doing it. Let's say a group of people is asked what they do when they are insulted. One of them says, "I insult back", while another one says, "I forgive". That's the "I forgive" we need. Is it any clearer? Thank you all!
