English term or phrase: reliever airport
this is a term in a glossary. I have no context. However this is the definition by NPIAS: "Due to different operating requirements
between small general aviation aircraft and
large commercial aircraft, general aviation
pilots often find it difficult to use a
congested commercial service airport.15
In recognition of this, FAA has
encouraged the development of highcapacity
general aviation airports in major
metropolitan areas.
These specialized airports, called relievers,
provide pilots with attractive alternatives
to using congested hub airports. They also
provide general aviation access to the surrounding area. To be eligible for reliever designation, these
airports must have 100 or more based aircraft or 25,000 annual itinerant operations. The
270 reliever airports have an average of 230 based aircraft, which in total represents 28 percent of
the Nation’s general aviation fleet." I need to come up with a translation that will fit the Greek aviation pattern
