Σφράγιση sounds good to me (as a non-native!).

I think this is a case where the number of hits on Google is not going to be a good guide. It's not on Google because previous translators have used the English term (and/or the Greek clinical trial documents aren't online).

If I were you, I'd use whatever Greek translation you think is best (such as σφράγιση) and then insert the English term in brackets (since the Protocol and IB are probably in English so "database lock" will be taken as the standard term).

Alternatively, if this is regulatory stuff directed at EOF or the National Ethics Committee where some of the recipients may be less familiar with standard terminology, you could just use "database lock" in English (since that is the recognised term) and put your Greek rendition in brackets.

Well, "δέσμευση βάσης δεδομένων" gives 0 hits on Google.
So does "περάτωση βάσης δεδομένων" and other weird variants I tried out.
I'm considering "σφράγιση...", alongside your alternative.

But if you want a Greek term and nobody else can find an established Greek rendition, can I suggest δέσμευση? That term is used for bank accounts and data protection when there is a freeze/block/lock on new transactions.

I know the term "database lock" and checked back to my Greek>English translations. The source texts use the English term! For example:

Επίσης έχουν αναφερθεί δεδομένα από μια μελέτη που έχει περατωθεί (ΧΧΧΧΧ - ημερομηνία database lock ΧΧ Μαΐου 2017).
