Η ανόπτηση είναι μία μεταλλουργική θερμική κατεργασία κατά την οποία ένα μέταλλο ή κράμα, το οποίο έχει υποστεί ενδοτράχυνση, θερμαίνεται σε υψηλή θερμοκρασία (500–850°C) και κατόπιν ψύχεται αργά για αρκετές ώρες, έτσι ώστε να εξαλειφθούν οι υπολειπόμενες εσωτερικές τάσεις που προκάλεσε η ενδοτράχυνση.
