In statistics, heteroskedasticity (or heteroscedasticity) happens when the standard errors of a variable, monitored over a specific amount of time, are non-constant. With heteroskedasticity, the tell-tale sign upon visual inspection of the residual errors is that they will tend to fan out over time

Heteroszkedaszticitás
A többváltozós lineáris regressziós modellek esetén kitétel, hogy a maradékváltozó legyen normális eloszlású és állandó szórású. Ha eleget tesz ennek a feltételnek azt mondjuk, hogy a modell homoszkedasztikus. Ha ez nem teljesül, akkor heteroszkedaszticitás áll fenn.

A heteroszkedaszticitás több problémát is felvet a paraméterbecslések és konfidencia intervallumok pontos meghatározásánál ezért nem hagyhatjuk figyelmen kívül.

A heteroszkedaszticitást White-teszttel tudjuk kimutatni. A statisztikai programcsomagok mind a heteroszkedaszticitás tesztelésben, mind a kezelésben hatékony segítséget nyújtanak.
