Hello guys,

I am translating a patent related to polymeric compositions and I found "ester quats". I don't know how to translate it properly, because I found different sources where it is left in English: https://www.brenntag.com/media/documents/italy/downloads_1/b... here an example.

Isn't "quats" the abbreviation of "quaternari"?

"Col termine ESTERQUAT si identifica una categoria di esteri ideali per prodotti a risciacquo. L’esterquat in esame è di origine vegetale altamente biodegradabile e si presenta sottoforma di perline bianche. Ha proprietà emulsionanti, stabilizzanti e viscosizzanti, per rendere i prodotti per capelli ( schiume o balsami) particolarmente attivi a lisciare e districare. Buona capacità antistatica che non appesantisce i capelli; infatti dosando sapientemente le proprorzioni di esterquat vegetale, in base al tipo di capello da trattare ( particolarmente grosso, sfibrato e secco 8% ; fragile e sottile 4%) avremmo un prodotto rispettoso e che saprà ridare lucentezza e corpo ai capelli. Si aggiunge a caldo ( 75°C ) in fase grassa."
