mandrapa (last name, surname) Blanket Explanation: Apparently in some dialect there are references to the word "mandrappa", i.e. "blanket". The word has disappeared from modern Italian. However, the adjective "smandrappato" is still used. "Smandrappato" means "shabby". The initial "s" means "lack of something", therefore the original meaning of "smandrappato" could be "without a blanket" (or a similar item). Hope this helps a bit. |
