Salve, dovrei tradurre questa frase, ma mi trovo in difficoltà perché non so come renderla in italiano:
"But what about any free will that might be involved in our deciding whether or not we have free will?" (Ma che dire del libero arbitrio che potrebbe essere coinvolto nelle nostre decisioni...?)
Is that process the result of a chain of chemical reactions in the brain?

Si tratta di un testo che parla del materialismo che prevede che gli esseri umani non abbiano alcun libero arbitrio, e delle varie altre ipotesi sul cervello come sede o meno della memoria e dei ricordi.

È una sorta di paradosso (un metapensiero “impossibile”): che dire del libero arbitrio quando si tratta di decidete se abbiamo / siamo dotati (o possiamo) di libero arbitrio? Se siamo veramente liberi di decidere, potremmo anche decidere di non essere in grado di decidere ;)
