English term or phrase: Free Assiba!
Mr. Assiba J. is a human rights defender, who was arbitrarily arrested.
An international campaign (based on protest banners, leaflets...) is to be launched for his release.
How would you translate the following two words into Japanese: Free Assiba!
(i.e. "Set Assiba free!")?

Many thanks and kind regards.

アッシバ氏を解放せよ!
Explanation:
"Free" (verb) is usually translated as 自由にする or 解放する. In imperative form, it is 自由を(与えよ)or 解放しろ、解放せよ.
If you prefer shorter phrase, you could say アッシバ氏に自由を!

”アッシバ氏を釈放せよ” would be better option.

How about ジョーゼフを釈放せよ! and メッソンを釈放せよ! ?
However, the pronunciation of the names are not quite clear to me. As we use phonetics to write people's name in our alphabet, if you could show me the their names using International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), I can provide you with more accurate translation. Regards, Kyoko Nakazawa

Thank you.
Then, it would be ジョーゼフを釈放せよ! for Free JOSEPH
and メッソンを釈放せよ! for Free MESSENTH . (unchanged)

Notes to answerer
Asker: I make a note that "Set Assiba free!" is translated as "アッシバ氏を解放せよ!" Many thanks for your helpful support. Patrick.

Asker: Many thanks for the clarification. So, what would be the complete better expression? Patrick.

Asker: Many thanks to both the answerer Kyoko Nakazawa and the modreator Takeshi MIYAHARA for your helpful assistance.

Asker: Hello Kyoko: The campaign for the release of a HR defender (Assiba) has just been extended to two male pro-democracy activists in Togo. How would you translate the following two short sentences: - FREE JOSEPH! - FREE MESSENTH! Kind Regards. Patrick.

Asker: For any purpose it may serve, please note the international phonetic alphabet equivalents of both names: 1/ Joseph [ʒozɛf] 2 / Messenth or Messan [mesã]. Many thanks.

Asker: My sincere thanks for your valuable assistance. Kind regards.

neutral  Takeshi MIYAHARA: According to the given information, the person is not captured as a prisoner of war (POW) but arrested, so I assume that the translation for "to set free" be not 解放 but rather 釈放.
