Reference: European Commission Reference information: February 2007 - Press release: The European Solar Test Installation (ESTI) to move its efforts towards Thin Film Technologies The ESTI Laboratory of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (Institute for Environment and Sustainability, Renewable Energies Unit) in Ispra, Italy is pleased to announce that it will concentrate its R&D effort, including Module Qualification, on Thin- Film based Photovoltaic Modules. It intends to take a proactive and leading role in Thin Films - gaining more knowledge, solving problems and contributing to make this new technology market-ready. Consequently, as from 1 March 2007, ESTI will accept only thin-film photovoltaic modules for testing, according to IEC 61646, while assuring the completion of all on-going accepted tests to IEC 61215 http://re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/solarec/ |
