Dimen (1995b) succinctly summarizes the problem with the foregoing and other theoretical strategies for desire by pointing to the constricting foundational assumptions on which each of these theoretical organizations of desire is built. She critiques both the biological determinism implicit in Darwinian adaptational assumptions and the cultural determinism implicit in many assumptions from cultural anthropology that provide the foundational postulates to these psychoanalytic perspectives. Each of these sets of assumptions is founded on a postulated natural, universal ground that provides a reference point for what is normal and expectable in physical and social nature and what is not.

This seems to be the first use of the word sea-change, according to the Concise OED. Anyway, it seems to convey a fundamental shift or dynamic change in direction in academe on these issues.

しかしディマンは「フロイト（以後の）不確定性原理、相対性理論、社会（的）構築主義、ポストモダニズムという学界全体における（理論の）大転換」から最近の生物学と人類学は逃れられないと指摘する。

引用符があるので必要なのかわかりませんが、what she callsの適訳が思いつきませんでした。

I think I have been under wrong impression because of ambiguity in the original - if "sea-change" is "what she calls" and not the entire quote within inverted commas, then it is probably best to put it thus: 『大転換』（二重括弧）.

「180度転換」なら今回のcontextには当てはまりませんが、政治経済の紙面ではよく使われます。about face程急ではないが、潮のように進んでいる方向を止めて、全く違った方向に舵をとることに使う表現です。Pardon the mixed metaphors!
