Explanation:
If you want to translate "at the decisive moment" it would be "maximo momento", in the ablative.

To my mind, "discrimen" gives the idea of a difficult or dangerous situation, v.g.:

Cum omnium nobilium dignitas et salus in discrimen veniret (the dignity and life of every nobleman being in danger)

This connotation should be avoided in this context. Cartier-Bresson took his pictures not in dangerous situations, but at moments in which several important features made up a significant whole.
