for the significant contribution to the development of mutual scientific and educational programs pro subsidio insigni in commerciis disciplinarum atque studiorum mutuariis augendis Explanation: I have always used gerundives when translating the diplomas, they make such a nice and confusing sentences :-) |

propter contributionem magni momenti de programmatibus mutuis evolvendis physicis et scholasticis Explanation: This rendering supposes that the "for" implies that these programmes were developped for a purpose; hence 'propter' (for which 'ob' may be substituted), meaning 'because of, on account of'. 'Magni momenti' is a genitive of description or quality ('of great importance') for which the participial adjective 'significantem' might be substituted. 'De programmatibus, etc.', meaning 'concerning/in regard to developping mutual scientific and educational programmes' is a gerundive construction, which seems here the least clumsy construction possible. 'Physicis' is classical and 'scholasticis' Mediaeval and Modern. |
