English term or phrase: Bergenese
I'm dealing with a Japanese to English document talking about tourism in Norway. The dialect spoken in Bergen has been translated as "Bergenese". This sounds somewhat OK in English, but I'm wondering if there isn't some better word to use.

Thanks.

Explanation:
I actually don't dislike the term bergenese. It's pretty close to the Norwegian original word (bergensk) and sounds ok in English.

The phrase was "they speak what they call ___" so I said "They speak what they call "Berensk", or Bergenese" so it would make sense both ways.

disagree  Harald Roald: not to "bitch and moan" but this is an artificial word you invented yourself...

the Bergen dialect

Explanation:
I would call this the Bergen dialect

Bergensk, or the Bergen dialect, is the dialect of Norwegian spoken in Bergen. It is easy for Norwegians to recognise, as it is very easily distinguished from the other dialects in Hordaland."
