W innych AWD transfer case to praktycznie synonim dla center differential. Jeśli jest to jest to najczęściej mechanizm planetarny, w którym carrier assembly jest zespołem jarzma.

Carrier coś niesie, to nie może być element stacjonarny, tj, obudowa całej skrzynki rozdzielczej (the case of a transfer case?)

Proszę wrzucić: AWD planetary center differential. W grafikach będzie to pierwszy obrazek na stronie. I na nim 'carrier' wg podanej definicji.
Moc idzie na jarzmo, z koła słonecznego do jednej osi, z koła pierścieniowego - do drugiej osi. . Stosunek promieni obu kół (sun vs. ring) określa rozdział momentów. Wały wyjściowe sa połączone sprzęgłem wiskotycznym.

Asker: Bardzo dziekuję, ale "transfer case" to "skrzynka/skrzynia rozdzielcza", która może zawierać mechanizm różnicowy, więc nie rozumiem, skąd "obudowa" właśnie "mechanizmu różnicowego". Byłem tez na tropie "obudowy" i wydaje mi się, że dobrym tłumaczeniem będzie właśnie "obidowa skrzynki rozdzielczej" (https://www.bmw-klub.pl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=255531&start=15).
