Nu e chiar asa ... Nu confunda moda medievala englezeasca cu echipamentul soldatului de rand. La noi in Transilvania si la voi in Moldova, nimeni n-a purtat "braies", astea sunt haine specifice engleze, germane, italiene sau franceze, itarii si cioarecii nostrii sunt dintr-o singura bucata inca de pe vremea dacilor. Se foloseau haine de doua culori dar nici pe departe nu erau dominante, "cothardie" este o haina folosita specific de nobili pentru ocazii le speciale cand mergeau la curte, nici un taran, om liber sau razes moldovean sau transilvanean din clasele ne-nobile n-a purtat asa ceva. Coiful de tip normand a fost folosit de normanzi dar era ceva relativ rar pe taramurile noastre, in schimb se folosea un coif construit dupa tehnici asemanatoare dar nu din 4 ci doar din 2 bucati unite cu o placa mediana pe centru si cu o banda de jurimprejur la nivelul sprancenelor. Acesta se purta peste un coif de zale sau impreuna cu o protectie de ceafa din zale sau solzi metalici numita "aventail" sau "vantail" in engleza. In limba romana se folosea cuvantul "grumazar" sau "grumajer" dar acesta se referea la mai multe tipuri de protectii pentru ceafa si gat.

8. Armura (copie sec.XIX). Compusa din casca inchisa, grumajer nituit, camasa formata din pieptar si spatar. Braul este format din placi articulate, bratele alcatuite din doua piese cilindrice, articulate la umar si la cot, terminate cu manusi; pantalonii formati tot din doua piese cilindrice cu articulatii la genunchi si glezne. Incaltamintea tip „laba de urs”.
