Backplane is the physical interface module in many network devices such as a route or a switch that connects between an interface processor or card and the data buses and the power distribution buses inside a chassis.

Backplane je više od obične štampane ploče (printed circuit board - PCB), jer osim ugrađene elektronike sadrži i dodatne slotove i konektore, ali ne toliko da bi mogla da se nazove matičnom pločom u pravom smislu ovog izraza. Javlja se kao zadnja ploča ili zadnja štampana ploča.

Backplane je više od obične štampane ploče (printed circuit board - PCB), jer osim ugrađene elektronike sadrži i dodatne slotove i konektore, ali ne toliko da bi mogla da se nazove matičnom pločom u pravom smislu ovog izraza. Javlja se kao zadnja ploča ili zadnja štampana ploča.
