Farebné revolúcie, ktoré privodili pred troma desaťročiami pád socializmu v Československu a ostatných európskych krajinách socialistického tábora, sa zapísali do dejín ako takmer idylické ukážky výmeny režimov bez prelievania krvi. Posunuli globálnu sféru transatlantického Západu ďaleko na východ a vytvorili tam podmienky pre nástup divokého kapitalizmus. Bývalý západonemecký minister obrany (1969-1972), hospodárstva (1972-1972), financií (1972-1974) a napokon spolkový kancelár kancelár (1974-1982) Helmut Schmidt (1918-2015) ho charakterizoval ako Raubtierkapitalismus. Voľne preložené, koristnícky kapitalizmus XIX. storočia, ktorý nevymrel ani na prelome druhého a tretieho milénia. Prerastanie mafie do podnikateľských štruktúr počas turbokapitalizmu v 90. rokov minulého storočia viedlo k tomu, že v mnohých podnikateľských sektoroch sa udomácnili gangsterské metódy vydierania a výpalníctva.
