Archaeology / Museum display
English term or phrase: sinew
Back to my museum translation. The text is describing what's inside a display case in the museum:

"... a hammerstone for pecking into the rock surface, and a brush made of human hair, wood and sinew".

I've found "fibra o hebra", as some of the possible translations, but I want to make sure that it fits the context here. Thanks.

agree  Refugio: You beat me by two minutes. I would suggest, however, that sinew is a collective noun and should probably be translated as tendones.

tendones (de animal)

Explanation:
Ita and Ildya (string and sinew) String was normally made from animal fur or human hair.

Fur would be reeled to form cotton, which was then made into a ball. A spindle was used to twist fur and hair. The marshmallow plant was another source from which string could be made. When strong string was needed, sinew from kangaroo and wallaby tails was extracted to make it.
