... porque (con todos los respetos) si bien 'fruta pulposa' se entiende y me suena bastante bien, las otras opciones del gran John: una -'fruta mollar'- se entiende mejor y es más clara en España que en Latinoamérica, y la otra, que es 'infrutescencia'- me suena a noruego y a diccionario (siempre con todos los respetos).
