Please, I would like you put in clear what you want. Your text is written in English, but you say that you want to translate from Spanish to English. In Spanish language, the term package is not package. The communication industry during the last decades evolved and today there are English-Spanish Bilingual Glossaries with the translation of the main concepts of the communication discipline to Spanish with appropriate terms. By the way, the English translation of "package" to Spanish is "paquete". Thank you! DAT

I thought that the asker might already have done the translation into English but wasn´t sure whether to use 'packaging' or 'package' in an IT context. Maybe he'll coem back to shed some light on it later :)
