The following examples are taken from a Service Manual for an industrial forklift truck. I have trouble translating this verb. Is "sondar" a valid equivalent? Does it refer to verifying a part that is not connected to a circuit? Some examples below... Thank you for your help!

Probe sensor ground circuit at ECM connector C001 with a test light connected to battery voltage.

Probe TPS 1 signal circuit pin 6 with test light connected to battery voltage.

Do not probe through the Weather-Pack seals with oversized wire probes.
